Based in London, Peter Mann was previously Vice Chairman at Old Mutual Group. Peter was integral to the delivery of that organisation’s growth strategy. He currently is Chairman for EMEA and Independent Non-Executive Director of Bravura.

Prior to that, he held a number of senior roles, including CEO of Skandia, one of the United Kingdom’s largest retail platforms, which was acquired by Old Mutual in 2006, and also CEO of Bankhall, an independent financial adviser network. In his role at Skandia, Peter laid the foundations for expanding the retail platform into the leader it is today. At Bankhall, Peter supported significant revenue growth and steered the company to profit, implementing several new services for existing members across various business lines.

Phil joined the industry in 1982 and is a past Director of the Institute of Financial Planning (IFP) and the Society of Financial Advisers (SOFA), and a past member of the Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB) Regulatory Advisory Panel.

A specialist in helping Adviser’s cope with regulatory change, he has worked with Advisers, Planners and Regulators in the UK, Europe, USA, Canada, South Africa and Australia.

Phil is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII), a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society, a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), a Chartered Wealth Manager and a Chartered Financial Planner. Professional Adviser Magazine listed him amongst the ‘Top 50 Influential Advisers’ in 2005 and 2011

Together with his wife, Shannon Currie, he is an active Planner and Director of Perceptive Planning. This firm has been awarded Chartered Financial Planner status, as well as being nominated as a ‘Top 100’ firm by New Model Adviser magazine in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016.

International Adviser has listed him as one of the Top 100 Global Influencers in Financial Services for 2018 and 2019.

Mickey-Gambale

Mickey Gambale joined STANLIB in June 2016 as the CEO of STANLIB’s Group Investment Platform. His role focuses on strengthening the organisation’s platform capabilities.

Over the last 20 years, Mickey has built up his experience to include a vast range of financial service skills, from starting a micro-lending and E-commerce business to being an executive at corporate level. Prior to joining STANLIB, Mickey headed up various value propositions within the Momentum Group where he was responsible for premium investment and savings products. Previously, he served in high-ranking managerial positions at African Alliance, m Cubed and OpenGate.

Mickey holds a business management degree, a postgraduate in financial planning, and an MBA in strategic thinking.
